In Burgueira, possibly close to the place where the Plaza Fuerte de Turonio was located, there was a Romanesque church donated, along with others, by the King Alfonso VII to the monks of the Monastery of Oia.  Nevertheless, nowadays, the church preserved dates from the 1808 and has a rectangular floor-plan and two attached lateral chapels. The façade is flanked by two pilasters with smooth bases and capitals, crowned by pinnacles forming the shape of a ball. The door has a lintel and, above it, there is a niche with a stone figure representing a saint. Over this saint we find a spotlight and above it a cartel with the representation of Saint Peter’s keys and the year when the church was built. On both sides of the door there are two small figures representing Saint John the Baptist and Our Lady of the Rosary. The quadrangular tower has two bodies, both of them with a balustrade and pinnacles. The taller body is covered with a semicircular dome and a cross. It has a gable roof and several buttresses to support the walls. On one side, two corbels support a small roof that shields a door with a lintel. Inside, six Baroque altarpieces and several pieces of imagery from the older church are preserved.
