On this day, religious services honouring the two saints, who were brothers and doctors, take place in the chapel of Santa Liberata where the statues of both are kept. Furthermore, in the Santa Liberata square, in front of the chapel, there is an old popular fair called "Fiesta de la Miel y las Nueces" (Honey and Nuts Festival)
This food festival aims to promote one of the most important products of A Cañiza: ham. The municipality has a cold and dry microclimate that is particularly suitable for curing meat. Together with the 600 metres of altitude, the humidity and the professionalism of the sector, this means that the ham of A Cañiza reaches an exceptional level of quality.
This festival revolves around a pie competition. During the festivities there are many popular events like music groups, regional dances and traditional music. It was declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in 1999. It has been celebrated since 1974 and it is one of the most popular festivals in Galicia, as it promotes a typical Galician product and offers unique performances.
The festivity of San Roque is celebrated on August 16, one day after the great celebration of the ham of A Cañiza.
The religious fesitivity in honour of San Roque, that lasts for two days, is celebrated in the parish of Vilariño in late August. The main events of the celebration are the masses and auction.
The festival has been held every year, without interruption, since 1979. Musicians from all over Galicia and abroad invade the town to the rhythm of the pipes, drums and tambourines, and there are musical concerts in the Plaza de Os Gaiteiros. This creates an exceptional setting, of belonging to the same culture, that seizes the spirit of everyone there, and the memory of Avelino Cachafeiro. Following the announcement, the main focus of the festival is handover of the Medallas de ouro do Gaiteiro, in recognition of the work performed by persons or organisations that promote the festival, of popular culture and other aspects of the Tabeirós-Terra de Montes administrative division. In the afternoon, the Avelino Cachafeiro Bagpipes and Drums Contest takes place, in which the quality of performance by young musicians is testimony to the prestige this festival has earned in the world of the gaita. Gastronomical festivity during which octopus from the waters of the Cíes and Ons islands - from the fishing grounds of this cephalopod in Bueu - can be sampled.
The descent of the Minho River takes place between the municipalities of Salvaterra do Miño and Tui and covers 19 km of calm waters and beautiful landscapes on both the Galician and the Portuguese sides. It became a Festival of Tourist Interest due to its long-running popularity in Tui and its uniqueness.

A festival featuring all types of aguardiente (liquor): clear, herbal, "crema de orujo" (liquor made from grape remains with cream), coffee liquor and honey-based aguardiente. It ends with a traditional queimada late at night.
